Citadelle Gin

Citadelle Gin

It’s been some time since we did a review, let alone a gin. No time like the present, and today we have an interesting one.
Overall Rating: ★★☆

Tanqueray Gin

Tanqueray Gin

A “supermarket” gin if there ever was one, true. But it’s also true that there might not be any better example of the London Dry gin style.
Overall Rating: ★★☆

Oxley Gin

Oxley Gin

About as close as a gin distillery can get to the phrase “reinventing the wheel.” Not bad, but I’m not sold on the results of the extra labor (or price).
Overall Rating: ★☆☆

Nikka Coffey Gin

Nikka Coffey Gin

It’s sophisticated, it’s doing something new, and it’s Japanese. But at easily twice the price of a “premium” gin, it doesn’t rise to the high standards it sets for itself.
Overall Rating: ★☆☆

Fifty Pounds Gin

Fifty Pounds Gin

A sophisticated gin that made a middling first impression. However, it grew on me like a moss once I learned how to make it shine.
Overall Rating: ★★☆

Tanqueray Ten

Tanqueray Ten

A citrus-forward gin by one of the big boys that’s better than it has any right to be. Absolutely stupendous stuff.
Overall Rating: ★★★

Hendrick's Gin

Hendrick's Gin

Often, the very first “good” gin most will have, and thankfully one most will be unlikely to outgrow if they dig deeper into the category.
Overall Rating: ★★★

Edinburgh Seaside Gin

Edinburgh Seaside Gin

Scurvy grass? Bladderwack? It’s hard to justify oddball botanicals and (a higher price) in this also-ran kind of gin.
Overall Rating: ★☆☆

Uncle Val's Botanical Gin

Uncle Val's Botanical Gin

Once again, here we have a gin for "gin people." If you’re willing to take the ride, it will be exciting. Now, if you don’t normally drink gin straight…
Overall Rating: ★★☆

Boodles Gin

Boodles Gin

A proper British gin that might be one of my favorites for a Martini. Just don’t get your nose too far into the glass.
Overall Rating: ★★☆

Gin Mare

Gin Mare

A delightfully bold treat with a bonanza of Mediterranean flavors. An absolute must-try if you're feeling adventurous.
Overall Rating: ★★★

Bloom Gin

Bloom Gin

Bloom is a very pretty gin with a subtle and unexpected mean streak. Like a lot of the pretty ones, I suppose.
Overall Rating: ★☆☆

Broker's Gin

Broker's Gin

Before you go home with another fifth of Sapphire, consider this bottle instead. Broker's is a fun, hard-working gin that can make for a superlative mixer, depending on the night you have planned.
Overall Rating: ★★☆

Nolet's Gin

Nolet's Gin

"Who drinks gin straight?" some people ask. Take my word for it: they're out there, and Nolet's is a gin those people are likely going to appreciate.
Overall Rating: ★★★

Gabriel Boudier Saffron Gin

Gabriel Boudier Saffron Gin

Say, that's a real pretty color you got there. It'd be a real shame if people was to know it was, how should we say, not the genuine article.
Overall Rating: ★☆☆

Fords Gin

Fords Gin

Fords gets a top score purely because I can't find a damned thing wrong with it. It's a stunner in terms of taste, aroma, and value for money.
Overall Rating: ★★★

Martin Miller's Gin

Martin Miller's Gin

Martin Miller's is maybe my favorite gin, period. It's a stupidly good product that is almost beyond all reproach. Sure, it's not a juniper-heavy back breaker, but not every gin needs to be.
Overall Rating: ★★★

Gordon's Gin

Gordon's Gin

The perennial white knight of the bottom shelf, Gordon's is a surprisingly fine answer when it comes to gin and tonics or classic martinis.  Overall Rating: ★★☆

New Amsterdam Gin

New Amsterdam Gin

If you're basing your understanding of "New American" gins based off of what's in the New Amsterdam bottle... uh, don't.  Overall Rating:

Aviation American Gin

Aviation American Gin

Aviation is something of a paradox: a "light" gin. It's the forefather of a New American gin style that's tasty, but certainly not for everyone or for all applications.  Overall Rating: ★★☆
